Give Tips & Tricks

Do:
– Get organized and have everything you need within reach. This includes a heat-resistant work surface, tools, and wax.
– Make sure all of your tools are clean and free of grease because either one can inhibit the wick’s ability to fully absorb the wax.
– Take safety precautions by taking care to not burn yourself or your supplies with hot wax and molds.
– Whenever possible use double boilers to help prevent burning your wax.
– Preheat the mold before pouring in the wax so that it doesn’t crack when poured into it.

Don’t:
– Don’t pour any remaining hot wax down your drain, as this can create a clog in your pipes and lead to expensive repairs later on.
– Don’t forget to prime the wick before pouring in the melted wax -this is essential for ensuring that it absorbs as much of the liquid as possible for a well formed candle shape.
– Don’t be afraid to experiment with different fragrances, colors, and temperatures until you find what works best for you and your individual style.
