Making Your Own Pillar Candle Wick Pins
It’s not hard to make your own pillar candle wick pins, and it’s a lot cheaper than buying them. Plus, you can make them any size you want, which is nice if you have a particularly large or small candle.
What You’ll Need:
-Wire cutters
-Needle nose pliers
-A small gauge wire (22-24 gauge is best)
-A candle
Step 1:
Cut a piece of wire about 6-8 inches long. using the needle nose pliers, curl one end of the wire into a small loop.
Step 2:
Thread the other end of the wire through the loop, and pull it tight. You’ve now made a basic wick pin.
Step 3:
If you want to make your pins longer or shorter, simply cut the wire to the desired length and use the pliers to curl the end into a loop.
Step 4:
To use your pins, first trim the wick of your candle to about 1/4 inch in length. Then, insert the wick pins into the top of the candle, making sure they are evenly spaced.
