Mixing Colors In Candle Making
There are an endless number of colors that can be created when making candles. The options are endless, but some basic principles need to be followed.
When two colors are combined, they create a new color. This is called a subtractive color mixture. This happens because the two colors are combining to create a new color that is made up of the colors of the two original candles. For example, if two red candles are lit together, the new color will be a dark maroon.

For example, if three blue candles are lit together, the new color will be a light blue.

Santa Cruz Mission Candle And Toritilla Making
Candles and Toritillas are two of the most important and traditional items made at the Santa Cruz Mission.
Candles are an important part of the Catholic faith, and at the Santa Cruz Mission, we make our own candles from beeswax. The beeswax is melted and poured into molds, and then we let them cool and harden. We then cut the candles to the right length, and put them in a candle holder. We light them before Mass, and they help to create a special atmosphere.
Toritillas are also an important part of the Catholic faith, and at the Santa Cruz Mission, we make our own toritillas from corn. The corn is ground into a dough, and then we roll it out into thin sheets. We then place the dough on a hot griddle, and cook it until it is soft and pliable. We then fold it into a triangular shape, and cook it for a few more minutes. We then place the toritillas on a plate, and serve them with beans and salsa.
Candle Making Wire Wicks
