Add Fragrance/Colour/Decorations: Once you are happy with your wick placement and have your melted wax ready, add any desired scent or colour before pouring into containers ” just make sure temperatures remain consistent for colours to stay true! Also consider scenting your candles with aromatherapy essential oils or adding decoration elements like glitter or pieces of ribbon if desired.
5. Pour Wax & Allow Cooling: Slowly pour your melted wax into each container while ensuring wick stays taut and straight at all times ” be extra careful during this stage! Finally let candles cool naturally in room temperature air; do not freeze or put them in an oven!

Luckily, there are plenty of solutions to these issues that parents and carers should consider when guiding children through their projects.
Uneven Burning: Uneven burning results from the wick being too long or the wax too shallow, resulting in the flame being hidden by the pool of liquid wax. To resolve this problem, snip off excess wick so that only ½ inch (1 cm) remains above the liquid wax pool once lit. If the wax is too shallow, add an extra layer or use a higher melting point wax, such as paraffin or beeswax.
Wax Leakage: Wax leakage occurs when hot wax spills over the sides of candles in pools or drops as they burn. To avoid this issue ensure that all candles are made with moulds suitable for every shape and size you need, with mould walls thick enough so they do not warp once filled with liquid wax. Additionally, consider using double walled tins, which have an extra frame around them which stops side spillage before it happens.
Herringbone Wicks: Herringbone wicks are difficult to work with because their multiple strands are twisted together too tightly; therefore resin does not stick effectively in-between them which causes significant trouble for even candle burning and smoking during combustion. To overcome this challenge ensure that multiple wicks held together are sufficiently separated where possible before dipping into the finished product so you get good coverage from your cement/resin primer mediums .
