Soy Wax Candle Making Microwave
Method
Candlemaking is a fun, easy and affordable way to create custom scents for your home. You can use soy wax, beeswax or a combination of the two. Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource that burns cleaner than paraffin wax. It also has a lower melting point, so it’s a great choice for microwave candlemaking.
Supplies you will need:
Soy wax flakes
Microwave-safe container
Stovetop
Wick
Scissors
Double boiler (optional)
Fragrance oil
To make a soy wax candle in the microwave:
1. Pour the soy wax flakes into a microwave-safe container.
2. Microwave the wax on high for 1-2 minutes, until it is completely melted.
3. Add the fragrance oil to the melted wax.
4. Stir the wax until the fragrance is evenly distributed.
5. Cut a length of wick that is twice the height of the container.
6. Tie the wick to a pencil or chopstick.
7. Suspend the wick in the center of the container.
8. Allow the wax to cool completely.
9. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch.

Gel Wax Candle Making Instructions
Materials:
-Gel wax
-Wicks
-Cup or jar
-Scissors
-Hot glue gun
Instructions:
1. Cut the wick so that it is 1” taller than the height of the cup or jar.
2. Tie a knot in the top of the wick.
3. Melt the gel wax in a microwave-safe container.
4. Pour the melted gel wax into the cup or jar.
5. Insert the wick into the melted gel wax.
6. Let the wax cool and harden.
7. Trim the wick so that it is even with the top of the wax.
8. Light the candle and enjoy!
