How to Decorate Candles Using Colored Wax and Glue
Learning how to decorate candles in the kids’ room is really no different from learning how to decorate any other candle in your home. The basic technique is still quite simple, and so even a child could manage this project with little adult supervision, making a beautifully decorated candle a great gift for grandparents, parents, teachers, or even daycare providers. To start, hang a length of floral ribbon on the wall. At the end of the ribbon, drape some mini-lights along the bottom of the ribbon, directing them down the length of the ribbon as you pull it.
Now, find some small clear or frosted glass jars with lids. You’ll need a couple of containers filled with water to keep the candle warm while it is burning. Once you have purchased your candles, remove the stems from the flowers and attach them to the ends of the long, thin ribbon that was attached to the base of the jar. Place the ribbon onto the jar and then twist the ends around inside the jar so that the light can shine through. If you have small clear or frosted glasses, you can fill them with water to keep the candle warm while it is burning.
Next, you will need some fabric glue, a pair of tweezers, and some dried flowers. Take the tweezers and slowly pull the fabric glue from the paper onto the inside of the jar. Make sure the glue is completely accessible. Once you have the glue on the inside, take both ends of the ribbon and slowly push them through the holes on the bottom of the candle mold. Once you finish twisting the ribbon around the mold, hold the stem of the candle upside down over the fabric glue.
Now it’s time to decorate the candles with the ribbon bow. To begin, you will need one or two long pieces of ribbon. You will also need a single piece of the fabric glue. You will take a section of the ribbon and snip off the end so that it is tied securely to the baseboard. Repeat this process until you have an entire length of ribbon.
Now, you will need some bead or candy beads. Purchase some tiny clear glass beads in different colors or ones that are not as brightly colored. These beads will be used to create a design on the candle. Start by attaching the candle to a candle holder and then attach the ribbon to the baseboard.
Now it’s time to decorate candles with glass beads. The easiest way to decorate these candles is by using a beading pin. With this tool, you will be able to easily connect and adjust the beads to make various designs and patterns. Once you finish designing the candle, you can add some more of your choice to the baseboard to help you decorate the candle properly.
A great way to decorate candles is also using colored wax. This method is not as difficult as you may think. All you have to do is purchase some colored wax in various colors and styles. Start by adding small pieces of the wax at a time to the candle and wait until they harden into shapes. When the shapes are hard, they can be easily added to the baseboards to complete the design for the candle. One important thing to remember when coloring your wax is to use heat protection gloves.
A fun way to decorate candles is by adding some glitter or beading to the ends of the wicks. Glitter glue and beading can be purchased from craft stores. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, you may also try some liquid glue that you can purchase in any craft store.
