- Melt Wax – Place the wax in the double boiler and heat until it reaches a temperature of approximately 150°F. Use the thermometer to ensure the temperature is even.
- Add Scent – If desired, add a few drops of scented oil to the melted wax and stir with the stirring stick. You can also add colouring at this time.
- Prepare the Mould – Cut the wicking to the desired length and place it in the centre of the candle mould.
- Pour Wax – Carefully pour the melted wax into the mould, ensuring the wick is submerged.
- Let Cool – Let the wax cool for at least an hour.
- Decorate – Use ribbons and other decorative materials to make your birthday candles look extra special.

- If you don’t have a candle mould, it’s easy to make one at home with materials like foil or wax paper.

##### What You Need
* Wax
* Wick

##### Step-by-Step Guide
1. Place the wax into the melting pot, and melt it on low to medium heat.
2. Add color to your wax, if desired. Stir the wax with a makeshift stirring stick (e.g. an old spoon).
3. Add any desired flavors to your wax, if you like. Stir the wax until everything is blended together.
4. Once your wax is melted, pour it into the candle mold.
5. Take your wick and wrap it around the end of a pencil or wooden skewer. Place the wick into the center of your wax, making sure it reaches the bottom.
6. Allow your wax to cool and solidify, usually for least four hours.
7. After your candle has cooled, your can remove it from the mold and any excess wax from the base of your candle, if necessary.
8. Use a hot glue gun to attach the wick to the bottom of your candle, creating a secure and centered base.
9. Finally you’ll need to trim the wick of the candle down to your desired length.
