Easy Candle Making Coconut Oil

Making your own candles is a fun, easy, and affordable way to enjoy this simple pleasure. In addition, making your own candles allows you to customize the scent, color, and size to perfectly match your needs and desires.
The most important ingredient in candle making is the wax. There are many different types of waxes to choose from, but for beginners, I recommend using coconut oil. Coconut oil is a natural, renewable resource that burns clean and is non-toxic. It also has a wonderful scent that is perfect for creating a relaxing atmosphere.
To make a coconut oil candle, you will need:
-Coconut oil
-Wick
-Jar or container
-Scissors
-Pen or pencil
The first step is to determine the size of your container. The container should be at least 2 inches taller than the length of the wick. Cut the wick to the desired length and then insert it in to the bottom of the container.
Next, determine how long you want the candle to burn. Multiply the length of the wick by 6 to get the approximate burn time (in hours). So, if you cut the wick to 10 inches, the candle will burn for approximately 60 hours.
Now, it’s time to make the candle!
-Melt the coconut oil in a double boiler or microwave-safe container.
-Pour the melted coconut oil in to the container, filling it to within 1/2 inch of the top.
-Insert the wick in to the center of the coconut oil and straight up.
-Allow the candle to cool and harden.
-Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before lighting.

Is Making Wax Melts The Same As Making Candles
?
When it comes to making melts, there is a common misconception that it is the same as making candles. While the two crafts share some similarities, they are actually quite different.
