Making Spearmint Candle From Leaves

Candles are a popular item to make at home, and with a few simple ingredients and some basic supplies, you can make your own spearmint candle. This project is a fun way to use spearmint leaves from your garden, and the finished candle will have a refreshing scent.

To make the candle, you will need:

Spearmint leaves

Hot water

Votive or other candle holder

Wax

Fragrance or essential oil

Double boiler or microwave

To make the candle, first gather the supplies. Spearmint leaves can be found at most garden centers or online, and you will need a votive or other candle holder, wax, fragrance or essential oil, and a double boiler or microwave.

Next, fill the bottom of the double boiler or microwave with hot water and place the wax in the top. Heat the wax until it is melted, then add the fragrance or essential oil.

Remove the container from the heat and dip the leaves into the wax, making sure to coat them well. Place the leaves in the votive holder and allow the wax to harden.

The candle will have a fresh spearmint scent and will be a fun addition to your home.

Thread the wick through the hole in the bottom of the candle tin, and then affix the wick to the bottom of the tin with a few drops of wax.

Next, melt the wax. Our kits include a variety of waxes to choose from, including soy wax, beeswax, and paraffin wax. We also include a variety of scents, so you can find the perfect scent for your candle. Once the wax is melted, pour it into the candle tin, and then allow it to cool.
