Candle Making + Wax Potpourri

Candle making is a fun, relatively easy, and affordable hobby. It also makes for a great gift. You can make candles out of just about any type of wax, but I prefer to use soy wax because it is a renewable resource, and it burns cleaner than other types of wax.

To make a soy candle, you will need:

-Soy wax
-Wick
-Candle container
-Scissors
-Hot glue gun
-Fragrance oil (optional)

The first thing you need to do is determine how large of a candle you want to make. This will determine the size of your container and the amount of wax you need. Cut the wick to the desired length, and then glue it to the bottom of the container.

Melt the wax in a double boiler. You can do this by filling a pot with water and placing a smaller pot with the wax inside it. Bring the water to a boil, and then reduce the heat to a simmer.

Once the wax has melted, add the fragrance oil, if desired. You can add as much or as little oil as you like. Pour the wax into the container, and then allow it to cool. Once it has cooled, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch in length.

That’s it! You have now made a soy candle.

Microwaveable Soy Wax For Candle Making

When it comes to soy wax, there are two main types: microwavable and traditional. Microwavable soy wax is made for use with a microwave, while traditional soy wax is made for use with a stovetop.

Microwavable soy wax is a newer type of soy wax that was created specifically for microwave use. It is easy to use and melts quickly in the microwave. Microwavable soy wax is also odorless and has a lower melting point than traditional soy wax, which makes it a good choice for beginner candle makers.

Traditional soy wax is a more refined type of soy wax that is made for use with a stovetop. It has a higher melting point than microwavable soy wax and is less odorless. However, it is a good choice for candle makers who want more control over the melting process.

When it comes to choosing a soy wax, it is important to consider the type of candle you want to make. If you want to make a microwaveable soy wax candle, then microwavable soy wax is the best choice. If you want to make a traditional soy wax candle, then traditional soy wax is the best choice.

Heritage Candle Making

Candles have been around for centuries, and their popularity has only grown in recent years. People love candles because they create a warm, inviting atmosphere, and they can be used to scent a room or to celebrate a special occasion.

If you’re interested in learning how to make your own candles, you’re in luck. It’s actually a very easy process, and you can use a variety of different materials to create your candles.

The first step is to choose a wax. There are a few different types of waxes that you can use, but the most popular option is soy wax. Soy wax is made from soybeans, and it’s a renewable resource. It’s also non-toxic, which makes it a safe option for people with allergies.

Once you’ve chosen your wax, you need to decide on a scent. You can use essential oils, or you can use a fragrance oil. If you’re using essential oils, you’ll need to add them to the wax before you start melting it. If you’re using fragrance oil, you can add it to the melted wax once it’s been poured into the container.

The final step is to choose a container. You can use a variety of different containers, but the most popular option is a Mason jar. Once you’ve chosen your container, you need to melt the wax. You can do this using a microwave or a stovetop.

Once the wax is melted, you can add the scent, if you’re using it. Then, you can pour the wax into the container. You’ll need to wait for the wax to cool before you can light the candle.

Candles are a great way to add a touch of warmth and personality to any room. If you’re interested in learning how to make your own candles, Heritage Candles can help. We offer a variety of different classes, and we can help you choose the right wax and scent for your project. Contact us today to learn more.
